Wednesday Project

My Wednesday Project draws from images I've made over many years as a photographer. I usually balance new and older photos, but being currently on a Fulbright in India, I've been posting mostly new work. Next week I'll go back in time, but for now, this was made last week in a small village outside of Shantiniketan in India. All the homes are adorned with bar relief sculptures. It is unclear whether they are really old or a product of a more recent crafts revitalization project. In either case, they seem a strangely beautiful presence in a very poor village.
