Another Wednesday, another visit to the vault. This image was made in what is now the Gateway National Recreation Area, near the Rockaways. Fort Tilden was off-limits when I grew up in New York. Now it offers a spectacular, secluded beach with weird remnants of its past life. Many of my images deal with the strange things I tend to find around me. I haven't a clue what this stuff is.
