I placed a sheet of plate glass in front of a photograph of a Polish rabbi by Roman Vishniac and then smashed the glass. You don't have to read to understand that violence was done. This installation commemorated Kristallnacht, the night of broken glass, in Nazi Germany. It was a permanent installation at the Spertus Museum in Chicago.
